I’m faced with the conclusion that most people are now in three possible groups.
In one group, these folks are independent thinkers; they question nearly everything, researching the web and other sources for all kinds of information, listening to other experts and expanding their minds to new possibilities; some of which is difficult to accept at first.
In the second group, individuals are waking up to new possibilities that explain what is going on around them and to other people in other parts of the country and world. They are shocked at what they are finding out and wonder why their normal news sources are not discussing any of these other points of view.
In the third group, where many Americans are still at, are people who still depend on established outlets for their information like the newspapers, television, radio as well as the government; but especially the established news media. Unless the information comes from recognized experts or specialists they are already familiar with they will normally ignore information as unreliable. Alternative news sources on current topics are not listened to. This group will obey all the rules thrown at them; regardless how ridiculous or overbearing those rules may be. This group will probably be very slow to accept that the rules were wrong or harmful. I’m not sure that time spent trying to change their mind is helpful now. It may be best to just live in peace with them and accept the decisions that they have now made. If asked your opinion, then give it but don’t argue with them.
