Info in Bits & Pieces

At times information comes only in bits & pieces

Post #25 – Life in Bits & Pieces

Laziness and idleness have two miserable effects.
(1) They will slowly, gradually, and without notice sink the mind into a dull stupidity and a “don’t give a damn” about the most necessary things.
(2) They will reduce a man to extreme want and poverty, eventually tempting him to use dishonest means for a livelihood.

By the time man figures out what has happened, it is usually too late for a course reversal. Only through an act of God touching man’s heart can his mind think clearly.

Borrowed from a quote by Bishop Partick

Old Proverb on Friendship:
If one desires the friendship of others, you must show yourself friendly. But the man or woman of many friends, who has made a point to make friends of bad and good alike, does so to their own ruin. For those friends feed upon him or her, and exhaust their resources, but will not stand by them in the day of trouble or disaster, but give a helping hand to their downfall. Yet there is one that sticks closer than a brother.

You may have noticed that life is constantly changing. With this change, suffering comes for a period of time, then a respite of calm to regain our footing. We learn to adjust and adapt as necessary before another period of suffering raises its ugly head again. Each time we learn to fight better; may we all learn to fight this fight well.

Seems journalism had the same problem for years now for putting out ‘fake news’ which has now bred timid journalists who don’t care nor seek out the truth for their stories.

Another proverb:
”What is down in the well of the heart will come up in the bucket of speech.”
— Vance Havner.

Something to Consider:
Teddy Roosevelt, during the First World War, used to talk about hyphenated Americans. He was talking about German-Americans who had a divided allegiance, and he said, “If you’re an American and something else, you’re not an American.”
― Vance Havner

Ignorance is bad. It can kill you. Be informed. Why trust what liars tell you regardless of their position or rank? Think for yourself, be diligent in research, spent enough time to fully give deliberation to your decisions.
—- Bill Wyler

“They that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same” (Job 4:8)
