Consider the proverb below as the days ahead become more of a financial strain and making ends meet difficult.
“A man’s desire is his kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.” Proverbs 19:22
This speaks to all of us who have a neighbor or family member struggling with life and finances. All of us have an opportunity to do good. Our desire to help shows kindness to another. We should help as we can, doing what we can. But the person with financial means to do more than he promises to do or give and yet does nothing is a liar per this proverb. Don’t be a liar, be the one who gives a helping hand.
Old Buddist proverb:
Like a beautiful flower, full of colors but without scent, are the fine but fruitless words of those who do not act accordingly.

Quote:
”The first thing I noticed with people that are over 70 that are fit and healthy and sets them apart from someone that may not be so healthy is the positive attitude.”

55 PERCENT. “Research shows that individuals who perform little to no physical activity have a 55% increased risk for sarcopenia compared to physically active individuals.” Emily Sevante, physical trainer
What is “sarcopenia”? Sarcopenia has been defined as an age related, involuntary loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength. Beginning as early as the 4th decade of life, evidence suggests that skeletal muscle mass and skeletal muscle strength decline in a linear fashion, with up to 50% of mass being lost by the 8th decade of life.

Do we grow lazy in retirement? I was considering that question this morning upon reading Proverbs 19:24. In that verse, we get a picture of a lazy person who will not even lift his hand to feed himself. The assumption is that he can do so but refuses to do so. It is said that laziness, when indulged, can grow upon people, that they have no heart to do the most needful things for themselves (Matthew Henry). This can affect us at any age. I don’t believe I’m there yet, but sometimes the temptation to put things off to another day or next week exists. How about you?
Arabic proverb: Don’t die of hunger under a date tree.
Punishment’s purpose is retribution for wrongs done and as an example to others. Even though it may do the lawbreaker no good, he must be punished. When the simpleminded, whose character is not yet formed for good or evil, see that it matches the crime, they may reflect and amend or change their ways.
ADVICE:
Stop listening to teaching that contradicts what you know is right.
The truth means nothing if you only intend to desert it later.
