May your Thanksgiving be full of thanks!

UKRAINE – Things that you might not know…
Ukraine is the second largest Europoean country after Russia with over 230,000 sq. miles. It had a population of nearly 41 million people with an ethnic mix of 78% Ukrainians, 17% Russians, and 5% others. It is the poorest country in Europe and has the highest level of corruption.

Russia has sought a “short truce” which Ukrainian Zelenskyy vehemently dismissed. He believed it would allow Moscow’s forces to regain strength, as reported by Aljazeera, Nov 19, 2022.

Currently, about half of Ukraine’s energy system has been disabled, facing a ‘complete shutdown’, according to Prime Ministrer Denya Shmyhal. Now 10 million people are without power in the country. Almost 40% of Ukrainespower grid has been destroyed or damaged. It could take months to fix as spare equipment remains in short supply.

A lie can only be effective if the lie controls a person. Cynthia Bond

A half-truth is more dangerous than a lie. You can detect a lie at some stage, but a half-truth is sure to mislead you for a long time. Anurag Shourie

He who dares not offend cannot be honest. Thomas Paine (1736-1809)

QUOTE:
“Have you found honey? Eat what you need only, that you not have it in excess and vomit it.” Proverbs 25:16

The above is a true statement. We understand ‘honey’ as something that pleases the senses. With all present and worldly delights, we use them with moderation, which few today do. If we partake in excess, those pleasant things produce disgust and guilt, usually followed by trouble. Don’t over-indulge.

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”

ENCOURAGEMENT:
Being neighborly and friendly is highly recommended. Neighbors should get to know each other and visit one another for a healthy community. Just keep in mind to make such visits infrequent. You don’t want to wear out your neighbor, for they may grow to hate your frequent visits and you in particular. Remember the rule of moderation in ALL THINGS.
