PERSONAL
As I post this blog, my air-conditioning unit at home has been out of service for nearly a week. My service provider has placed an order for the needed circuit board with Carrier. Now we wait. Today has been one week. I realize there is nothing more I can do but trust that God will graciously answer our prayers and move people to pick up the part and ship it. But is this a supply-chain issue? How far down the chain is the part to come from? China? There is no way for me to know.
So patience seems like a good lesson to learn here. Many years ago, as a boy in Texas with hot summers, the old homeplace had no A/C. We survived and thrived well. As I got older, having cooling has been something I have taken for granted. Now I wonder what else I have taken for granted. Fortunately, one of our wonderful neighbors has loaned us the use of their portable A/C unit. It provides an environment for a good night’s sleep in our bedroom. Perhaps the part will come soon. I will keep you posted.
